India won the toss at their 500 Test match at Kanpur and started to bat first, after sound start in the first session, India managed to score over 100 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. But New Zealand managed to come back and crashed India’s bating lineup and took 8 wickets in next 2 sessions and India managed to score 291/9 at stumps on Thursday.
On Friday India started their innings with Jadeja (42) and Umesh Yadav (9) and managed to sore 318 runs all out in the first session at 97th over. New Zealand bowler Neil Wagner (2wk) managed to pick last wicket of Indian team to finish the first innings of Indian team.
New Zealand started their innings strongly unlike India, New Zealand players are playing considerably well with out providing any opportunity to opposition. When New Zealand was in good form Martin Guptil (21) lost his wicket to Umesh Yadav as LBW and score board was at 35-1.
Tom Lathem (56) and Kane Williamson (65) managed to score their 50 mark and continued to play till end of second session with out losing any wickets. After tea break when both batsmen were eyeing on scoring centuries Rain god decides to break the momentum. New Zealand were at 152-1 with Tom Lathem and Kane William son at crease and Umpires call off the play early at 3:15 IST Local time.

Third of 500th Test will begin 15 minutes early to accommodate another eight overs in to 3rd days quota.
Umesh Yadav is the only bowler in indian side who managed to pick a wicket of New Zealand team in 47 overs on Friday. While Kohli looking forward to pick early wickets on Saturday morning, Williamson is looking ahead for a big score on India’s 500 Test Match.
